Ron's Ultimate French Toast
are times when I really LOVE breakfast! And the great thing about breakfast is
that it's good anytime of the day or night. Here's my version of French Toast.
Best when prepared the night before.
1 1/2 cups milk
4 tbsp light brown sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp all spice or nutmeg
1/2 tsp vanilla
1/8 tsp ginger
12 slices white bread
3 slices thick sliced ham
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
Combine eggs, milk & spices in a bowl and set aside.
a 13 x 9 glass baker (spray with non-stick cooking spray), lay out 6 slices of
bread. Spread out cheddar cheese over the bread. Lay out the ham slices over the
cheese & bread. Top with remaining 6 slices of bread.
Pour egg mixture evenly over entire assembly.
Cover with plastic wrap & let set in refrigerator overnight or at least 2 hours.
Bake in 350° F oven for about 35 - 45 minutes
or until golden brown. Let sit for 5 minutes before serving with butter & maple
