We use registration information (name, shipping address, phone numbers, etc.) to contact customers in regards to orders placed at the Par Pool & Spa web site when necessary.

The Par Pool & Spa web site may use cookies to track how customers and visitors are navigating our site and to provide you with personalized content. Most browsers are initially set to accept cookies. If your browser is set to refuse cookies, you will not be able to order from Par Pool & Spa.

Your Credit Card, Processing & Security
At Par Pool & Spa, our secure server encrypts all payment information that you transmit to us while using our site. We use the latest 128-bit encryption technology to keep your personal information safe. This includes your name, address and credit card number and expiration date. The encryption process takes all of the personal information and converts it into a special code that is securely transmitted over the Internet. If you experience fraudulent use of your credit card as a result of using your credit to make a purchase through Par Pool & Spa, you must notify your credit card provider in accordance with its reporting rules and procedures. If your credit card provider holds you liable for some portion of the unauthorized charges and if the unauthorized use of your credit card resulted (through no fault of your own) from the use of your credit card to purchase through the secure server at Par Pool & Spa, then Par Pool & Spa will reimburse you for the liability up to a maximum of $50.00, US.

Credit card transactions are handled by a third-party financial institution using SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) which receives the credit card number and other personal identifying information only to verify the credit card numbers and process transactions. To find out if your transaction is guarded by SSL, look for the picture of the unbroken key or closed lock in your browser window (both the Netscape Navigator/Communicator and Microsoft Internet Explorer browsers use SSL). Either indicator means SSL is hard at work. (If you don't see either one, or if you see a broken key or an open lock, that means your transaction does not have SSL protection).

The easy way to tell if SSL is guarding your transaction is to check the URL of the site you are visiting. The URL in the browser should change from "http" to "https" when processing secure transactions.

The Par Pool & Spa web site contains information on a wide variety of products and services. We do provide links to affiliate's and manufacturer's sites for additional information on their respective products and services. Although we try to ensure that these independent sites adhere to a privacy policy that is consistent with our policy, we are not and cannot be responsible for the privacy practices or contents of other web sites and do not make any representations regarding how such sites use their acquired customer information.

Shipping
Unless otherwise noted, your order will be charged a flat shipping & handling fee of 9.99% or $9.99 (effective March 18, 2008), whichever is greater.  Certain larger or bulkier items such as, but not limited to: Pool filters, hammock or other furniture, off-set umbrellas, umbrella bases, hammock furniture, gazebos, certain pool or spa chemicals, etc. will incur additional shipping charges due to their shipping size/weight and ultimate destination. Par Pool & Spa will do its best to ship UPS, FedEx, DHL or US Postal Service in a cost efficient and expedient manner, the same day that the order is received, providing the order has been received by 3:00 pm Eastern Time (12:00 noon Pacific Time).  "RUSH" orders are guaranteed to be sent out on of the same day (Monday through Friday, except legal holidays) that the order is received (orders must be received by 1:00 pm Eastern Time - 10:00 am Pacific Time).  Due to the chemical nature of many of the orders & shipments, it is not possible to ship via "air" and will therefore ship via "ground" delivery.  Orders placed between 4 p.m. Friday, Eastern Time through Sunday, will be processed & shipped on Monday, unless a legal holiday has fallen on that day.

Please note:  If your purchase is a "non-chemical" gift, please mention that fact and the date you need to have your purchase in the comments section of the purchase page.  We will do our utmost to accommodate your needs and make that gift special. 

Extra Heavy or Large items such as Aboveground pools, Spas, Spa Surrounds, Heaters, etc. must be shipped via common carrier, outside of Connecticut.  There will be an additional charge for common carrier routing (actual freight cost).  We will quote you the freight cost for your authorization prior to shipping.

Certain Pool & Spa chemicals are classified by the United States government as "hazardous materials" (CFR 49, parts 100 to 178).  As such, in many cases only certain sizes are available for shipping via UPS or other such package transport systems.  Typically quart sizes of many liquids or 1 lb. bags and bottles of oxidizers.  You as the consumer may order multiple quantities, however they MUST be in the smaller containers.

Canceling an order: A customer may cancel their order placed online, by fax or by telephone without penalty at any time except under the following conditions: 
1. Special orders for custom made items (i.e. pool liners, non-stock safety covers, spa covers, spa surrounds) are cancelable without penalty prior to their production, usually within 5 business days. 
2.  Special orders for custom made items (i.e. pool liners, non-stock safety covers, spa covers, spa surrounds) are cancelable if beginning production with a 25% production fee charged by the manufacturer; freight charges will be credited 100%. 
3.  Special orders for custom made items (i.e. pool liners, non-stock safety covers, spa covers, spa surrounds) are NOT cancelable if significantly produced or manufactured although not shipped.  Customer is responsible for the total cost of their order less freight or shipping or installation charges.
4. Regular in stock items cancelled prior to their shipping will be voided without charge. 
5. Regular in stock items that have been shipped may be cancelled however the customer is responsible for the freight charges and any additional return handling charges made by the carrier plus a 15% restocking charge. 
6.  Unclaimed orders (defined as items that were ordered & shipped but not claimed after shipper has made repeated attempts to delivery the merchandise) are subject to a restocking & handling fee of 20% of the order plus original freight charges plus any additional freight charges levied by the freight carrier.

Returning merchandise may be done within 30 days of the original purchase date with prior approval from our office.  The buyer will receive a confirming email with a corresponding Return Goods Authorization (RGA).  If the product is found to be defective, a replacement will be sent at no additional charge.  The buyer is responsible for the cost of freight to and from Par Pool & Spa.  Upon the merchandise's arrival, it will be inspected for damage or for warranty or claims of defect.  After inspection, the buyer will be credited the proper amount, less shipping and handling charges. 

Returns may be shipped using any method of your choice.  BE SURE your shipping carrier issues you a tracking or tracing number for the protection of your return.  Any returns lost in shipment without a tracking or tracing number are the buyer's - your - responsibility & no refunds will be made.

Returns for non-warranty/non-defective products are subject to a 15% Restocking charge based on the conditions of the package.  "Floor Models"  or items Sold "AS IS" are NOT returnable/refundable unless deemed by Par Pool & Spa to be completely defective. 

Merchandise MUST be returned in its original packaging, in a re-sellable condition.  Allow 10 to 14 days for processing.  The buyer will be notified when the credit is processed via email.

Please Note: Par Pool & Spa is unable to accept returns for any products that have been opened and used in your swimming pool or spa.  For the safety of our customers, shippers, and staff, chlorine, bromine, sanitizing or oxidizing (pool or spa shock) products cannot be returned.

Special Orders / Non-Stock Items are payable in full at the time of order and are not returnable or refundable.  In addition, the customer is also responsible for the freight costs in both directions.  These items are defined by Par Pool & Spa as not being a normally stocked in our inventory for sale item. 

Custom made Inground Vinyl Liners, Aboveground Vinyl Liners, Spa Covers, Spa Surrounds, and any other items that are custom made to your particular specifications are not returnable or refundable under any circumstances.  Damages due to freight handling must be mentioned & noted at the time of delivery & must be made in writing to the shipping carrier.

All International Orders (including the Hawaiian islands and Alaska)  are subject to additional handling, shipping, taxes and duties not shown on your invoice.  The customer will be contacted via email with the readjusted pricing.  At that time the customer will have the option of accepting or rejecting the sale without penalty. Please note that there may be additional brokerage and/or customs fees (i.e. local taxes, VAT, duties, etc.) that may be billed separately to you by our shipping companies (DHL, FedEx, UPS, US Postal Service or others) AND are not readily available at the time of transit.  The customer is responsible for these fees. Any and all charge-backs to Par Pool & Spa for these additional fees will be charged to the purchasers credit card account at a later time PLUS an additional handling fee of $5.00 US. Pool & Spa chemicals CANNOT be shipped internationally at this time.

Survey Information
Par Pool & Spa may occasionally seek information about our customers via electronic or print surveys. Participation is optional. Survey contact information (name, email address, etc.) is used to request more information in relation to the survey when necessary. We also use contact information to send out personalized and/or targeted promotional material on Par Pool & Spa on an optional basis. Survey participants may opt-out of future mailings by following the instructions in the mailing. Surveys may also capture demographic information (zip code, age, income level, etc.). This information is used to refine the nature of the Par Pool & Spa web site for its visitors on a continuing basis.

Sweepstakes Information
Par Pool & Spa may from time to time conduct sweepstakes which ask visitors for contact information (name, email address, etc.) and demographic information (zip code, age, income level, etc.). Participation is completely optional.

Unsolicited comments from our customers may be used without the customer's permission from time to time in various forms such as but  not limited to feedback, product endorsements, technical questions, etc.  Par Pool & Spa will exercise the appropriate courtesy of showing only the first name, last name initial, city and state, and date of comment.  These comments are used for the benefit of existing or potential customers as they seek information on various products offered by Par Pool & Spa.  Customer comments used in this website may be withdrawn or the customer may ask to have the comment withdrawn by contacting Par Pool & Spa via telephone, writing or email at the addressed provided below.

Electronic Advertising
Par Pool & Spa will from time to time (currently no more than 2 times per month) send out via email, advertisements of new products, Sale items, services, and other timely information pertinent to swimming pools, spas, hot tubs, outdoor & casual living.  Recipients have the option to OPT OUT of any future mailings by clicking on the email link shown in the advertisement.  Recipients may also OPT OUT via notification to Par Pool & Spa's FAX number or corporate telephone which will be shown in the advertising.
